Every woodturner seems to make candlesticks but be careful. If you look closely you will see a spun copper liner bonded into the wood.
If you go off and forget it the chill of the metal stops the stump’s flame getting to the wood and at the least charring it.
Without the metal its probably not a serious fire risk but you really don’t want to round off the candle lit dinner for two with the smoke alarm going off.
This one is in cherry.
